How to Verify a Flash Memory Supplier Before You Pay
Supplier verification is a sequence, not a feeling. Check the legal entity against a registration record. Ask what is tested and how. Verify capacity yourself on a sample. Confirm what happens when material is short. Ask for the certificate behind any certification mark. Then place a small trial order before committing volume. None of these steps require trust — which is the point. A supplier that is what it says it is will not find the questions awkward.
The checklist
- Legal entity: get the registered name and look it up. Confirm it matches the name on the quotation and the bank details.
- Production claim: ask what the factory produces and what it buys in. Ask to see the floor, live on video if you cannot travel.
- Silicon: ask for the grade and source on your specific order. A brochure grade is not a batch grade.
- Testing: ask what is checked, at which stage, against what criteria, and what happens to a batch that fails.
- Substitution policy: ask what happens if the quoted silicon is unavailable. The answer is the useful part.
- Certifications: ask for the certificate and its number, not the logo.
- Samples: confirm you can approve a physical sample before bulk production.
- Trial order: place a small one and verify it yourself before committing volume.

What if I find a problem with a delivered batch?
Tell us what you found and how you tested it. The test method matters — a reproducible finding is something we can act on, and a vague one is not.
Should I use a third-party inspection company?
For a first order or a large one, yes — pre-shipment inspection is standard practice in China and costs far less than a bad batch. Tell us if you are appointing one and we will work with them.
